“Absolutely nothing in moderation,”
Based on the novel of the same name by Hunter S. Thompson; he was in his early 20s when he wrote his semi-autobiographical second novel about hard-nosed American newspapermen drinking, screwing and occasionally writing amid the social upheaval of late-’50s Puerto Rico. Johnny Depp lives up to it by getting sloshed for the better part of two hours.
Paul Kemp (Johnny Depp) is a freelance journalist who finds himself at a critical turning point in his life while writing for a run-down newspaper in the Caribbean. Paul is challenged on many levels as he tries to carve out a more secure niche for himself amidst a group of lost souls all bent on self-destruction.
Depp was also the producer for this film, an act of love for his friend and nobody can play this role like Johnny can.
